Faculty of Dentistry of Tishk International University held its annual conference on Oral Sciences in the Cultural and Social Center of Salahaddin University on May 4th, 2017. In order to enable the knowledge and information accessible to everyone, the 2nd International Conference of Oral Sciences (ICOSII) aims to gather researchers, practitioners, dentists, educators, and scholars with interests in any fields of dentistry at all levels from around the world. The ICOS 2017 conference was designed to attract the research communities to promote connections between theory and practice and explore different perspectives on the application of research findings into different dentistry field.
The event started with the National Anthem of Kurdistan and the inauguration speeches by Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Dr. Duran Kala the Dean of the Dentistry Faculty, Dr. Vian, and Dr. Noori Harzani.
After that, the officials, intellectuals and the visitors listened to the keynote speeches by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ritcher, University of Manchester who discussed LASER Core of Knowledge & Laser (hands-on Dentistry), after that Dr. Marcio Vivan Cardoso from University of Sao Paulo made his speech in which he discussed “Bonding efficiency and durability Overview on composites from GC with special focus on G-aenial: color determination and layering technique“, and then the 3rd keynote speaker’s speech started by Dr. Yad Zanganah Member of Royal College of Surgeons. He discussed “Botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. Applications in Oral Maxillofacial area” and after lunch last keynote speaker Mr. Sari Abu Salih from B. A. International Health Affairs, University of Geneva. Switzerland, began his speech in which he discussed “Set the problems in Disinfection”.
And also there were 2 parallel workshops after the closing ceremony which were about
a) Layering technique of composite,
b) Laser in dentistry.
The conference started with the opening ceremony at 10.00 am with the participation of Dr. Idris Hadi Head of Board of Trustees of Tishk International University, Dr. Vian Jaff Advisor to the Ministry of Health, Dr. Noori Harzani Advisor to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ahmad Dzayi Salahaddin University‘s Rector, Dr. Dara Hama Rashid Hawler Medical University Faculty of Dentistry Dean, Dr. Haitham AL-Ziarah Dean of Kitab Faculty of Denstisty, Dr. Saman Barzenji Erbil General Director of Health, Assist. Prof. Dr. Himdad A. Muhammad President of Erbil Knowledge University, Dr. Salim Zanganah Head of Board of Medical Specialty of Kurdistan, Dr. Shaxawan Khoshnaw Head of Kurdistan Dental Association, and Mr. Ghafur Khoshnaw Head of Khoshnow Group.
