Abstract

Aim of study:

The aim of the study is to find effect of Lactobacillus and salivary pH on the Incidence of carries.

Methods:

50 samples of saliva were collected from volunteers; those were sent to the laboratory for detecting the presence or absence of Lactobacillus and Salivary pH Level.

Result:

we found that lactobacillus was precent in the minority of the samples. We found that lactobacillus had highly significant relation with pH in which we found that

with the presence of lactobacillus pH was increased. We found that pH and number of carries had highly significant relation in which we found with the increase of pH an Increase in number of carries was observed.

Conclusion:

We found that Lactobacillus and pH of the saliva are not necessarily the main etiological

factors for incidence dental. Further research is needed with larger sample pool with

specified age group and different cariogenic bacteria should be taken into consideration.
