Abstract

Aim of the study is to use pretreatment cephalometric measurements and soft tissue

profile analysis to rule out facial attractiveness in patients with skeletal Class I, Class II, and Class III to find quantifiable evidence for the attractiveness of various facial

parameters.

Materials and methods 203 samples of lateral cephalometric radiographs for patients visiting TIU. Webceph cephalometric analysis have been used to make the digital tracing. SPSS program did all the statistical analysis.

Result very highly significant differences among the three skeletal classes, with a p-value of (0.000) in measurements of soft tissue profile convexity, upper lip to E-line, lower lip to E-line, and mentolabial angle. highly statistically significant differences with a p-value of (0.03) in the H.SN angle measurement. The results of this study showed non-significant differences among the three skeletal classes in nasolabial angle measurement.

Conclusion skeletal class II got the ideal distance from both the upper and lower lip to the aesthetic line. Based on a lateral cephalometric radiograph study in the Kurdistan region, the skeletal class II soft tissue facial profile matches more the ideal proportions of beauty and attractiveness.

Key words Cephalometry, Soft tissue profile, Nasolabial angle, Facial Aesthetics.
