Abstract
Background:

Analgesics are medications that diminish or eliminate pain feelings without inducing drowsiness or depression of other senses. They come in two varieties, opioids and anti-inflammatory drugs. Opioid tolerance is a phenomenon in which repeated opioid exposure reduces the drug’s therapeutic impact or necessitates a greater dose to obtain the same effect. It’s because of self-medication or long-term usage. To overcome that problem we must first begin with medical students. In this study we evaluate dentistry students’ and dentists knowledge, attitude, and practice.

Material and Methods:

Our study was a cross sectional study, depending on the questionnaire questions that distributed among 140 dental students and dentists in Erbil city. Their age is between 17-55 years old and they are from different grades and level of education. We used t-test, ANOVA, mean and frequency in IBM SPSS version 22 to analyze the data.

Results:

The results showed that their knowledge, attitude is better than their practice and there is a significant relationship between their age and educational level with (K.A.P).

Conclusions:

Dental students must improve their practice, attitude, and do what they know since they have a large impact on our society, and their lecturers must develop their (K.A.P) rather than simply their knowledge.
