Abstract
The purpose of this study was to assess patient satisfaction with removable parial dentures (RPDs) at TIU in terms of retention, mastication ability, and aesthetics.
Following tooth loss, a partial denture is a removable prosthesis that replaces missing teeth and alveolar bone.
In a partially edentulous patient, wearing a removable partial denture can improve masticatory efficiency. When the aesthetics and functionality of the stomatognathic system are improved, the patient’s quality of life increases. Acrylic is typically utilized to connect the false teeth that are replacing your missing teeth to the chrome cobalt base plate. Your chrome cobalt denture can last for many years if properly kept for and periodic examinations are conducted at 6 month intervals (or as directed by your Dental Prosthetist). The acrylic denture may ultimately wear out and require replacement after 5 to 6 years, depending on what you eat and the condition of your opposing teeth.
The research comprised 100 RPD wearers (38 females and 62 men) ranging in age from 25 to 78. Sex, age, employment, any past RPD experience, and the RPD complaint were all documented.
Within the confines of this study, almost half of the patients who received removable partial dentures were satisfied, showing that the quality of RPDs at Tishk International University was acceptable to patients. When patients have difficulty eating, dental procedures using RPDs should be done with caution, as this is the most common complaint. Dental treatments using RPDs should be performed with care when patients have discomfort in eating, as this is the most prevalent complaint. Also frequent follow up affects on satisfaction of patient.
