A Trip to Duhok, Amedi, Halabja and Hawraman for Dentistry Students and Staff

On the 7th and 8th of October 2022, the Dean of Students Office at the Faculty of Dentistry, Tishk International University, organised a trip for staff members to Halabja and Hawraman. The Dean of Students Office at the Faculty of Dentistry also organised a trip to Duhok and Amedi for third-grade Group B students from September 29th – October 1st (three days and two nights). And a second trip was arranged on the 21st and 22nd of October 2022 for third-grade Group A students. The trips were supervised by Dr. Yusuf Siddiq, Dean of Students Representative at the Faculty of Dentistry.

The students and staff enjoyed their time by visiting all four cities’ archaeological, cultural and entertaining places. The trips aimed to provide a relaxing environment for students and staff away from the stress and anxiety of work and study, strengthen their social relationships, and introduce them to the beautiful nature of Kurdistan.
As we approach the time of year when students and staff are required to work harder to meet deadlines, and the demands of each course become overwhelming, it is essential to focus on ways to decrease the overall tension of our dear staff and students by organising relaxing and enjoyable activities.

The Dean of Students Office at Tishk International University attempts to provide a variety of social and fun activities for students to help build their social skills and create an interactive learning space to decrease the stress of textbook learning, coursework, and examinations. Students can comprehend unique ideas and engage in foreign cultures through interactions and dialogues produced by such events. This also applies to staff who require tension-release time to gather their energy and accomplish successful academic outcomes.
