On the 9th and 10th of May 2024, the Dean of Students Office at the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a trip for fourth-grade students to Duhok, Amedi and Zakho. The trip was supervised by the Dean of Students Representative at the Faculty of Dentistry Mr. Yusuf Siddiq and Dr. Shad Hoshyar, Research Assistant at the Faculty of Dentistry.

On the afternoon of May 9th, the group started its trip by heading towards Duhok. They visited Zawa Mountain and Duhok Dam. They visited Stirling School in Duhok and spent the evening there. The next day they continued their trip to Amedi and Zakho. They visited Babl Mousl and The Big Amedi Mosque in Amedi. In Zakho they visited Dalal Bridge.

The students and staff enjoyed their time by visiting the archaeological, cultural and entertaining sites of the cities. The trip aimed to provide a relaxing environment for the students from stress and anxiety, strengthen their social relationships, and introduce them to the beautiful nature of Kurdistan.

As we approach the time of year where the students are required to work harder to meet deadlines, and the demands of each course become overwhelming, it is important to focus on ways to decrease the overall tension of the students by organizing relaxing and enjoyable activities.

The Dean of Students Office at Tishk International University (TIU) attempts to provide a variety of social and fun activities for students to help build their social skills and create an interactive learning space to decrease the stress of textbook learning, coursework, and examinations. Students will be able to comprehend unique ideas and engage in foreign cultures through interactions and dialogues produced by such events.
