Faculty of Dentistry, Tishk International University announces a new facility for the postgraduate and undergraduate students which is Laser Machine (Biolase). Dentistry Faculty of Tishk International University is considered the first University in Erbil city to have Dental Laser Unit that provides better prognosis and treatment outcomes because it’s minimally invasive with less bleeding, comfortable with less pain, and patient friendly.
On the 18th of December of 2018, a group of students from the Dentistry faculty of Tishk International University, under the supervision of Dr. (Sura salim) and Dr. (Alaa Abdulkarim ) visited the water bureau in Erbil City. Once there, the students set up camp and began to do dental check ups for the employees. The group of students were able to diagnose the oral issues of the employees, educate them on the importance of dental health, and supply them with equipment necessary to maintain a good dental hygiene. On 13th and 14th of December, 2018 an annual conference of Dental Implantology has been organized at Erbil Dedeman Hotel which was supported by Rizgari Teaching Hospital and sponsored by Roott Company. In this seminar 500 Dentists have been participated and 20 speakers have been participated all around the world, Dr. Rebuar Fadhil, Dr. Wala Almola, Dr. Reka Ramiz, and Dr. Muhammed Younis from Tishk International University, Faculty of Dentistry have participated as main speakers there. The purpose of the seminar was discussing about recent technology and innovation concerning Dental implantology.
Dentistry Faculty of Tishk International University welcomed primary School students of Ronaky, Brayati and Gullan schools from 29th of November till 6th of December more than 300 students have attended, Periodontal staff examined the students and gave them clear instructions and motivations for regular Oral health Care . After that the Primary students had a tour in the University and visited all the departments for enhancing the to have an interest in Dentistry Faculty.
On 10th of December, 2018 a welcome party has been prepared for Dental freshmen by class advisers of 1st grade. Mr. Sarhang Othman from Dean of Students has attended and presented a seminar about Dean of student’s activities and how to be a member there. Also traditional lunch was prepared for the freshmen by class advisers. by class advisors.
An Orientation program has been organized for the 1st grade students by the Deanery of Dentistry Faculty which was held at the end of November, 2018. The welcome speech was presented by the Dean of Dentistry Faculty Dr. Duran Kala. The aim of the orientation was to welcome and introduce the Dentistry Faculty and its rules to the recently joined dental students. Also some 2nd grade dental students have participated in the welcome orientation by giving them some sort of motivation and giving some advises to them.
Tishk International University announces that for the first time among Iraqi Universities, Dentistry Faculty will open the first dental studio unit for the Dentist Community. The Dental Studio Unit includes the Digital Smile Design (DSD) software manipulations and latest technology regarding objective flashes, lenses and lightening system have been provided. Starting from 1st January ,2019 the Studio services will be available.
On November 22, 2018, An opening ceremony held at Tishk International University, Faculty of Dentistry that was made through a collaborative team among a number of second-grade students and their Supervisor Dr. Hassan Kh. Mohialdeen. The ceremony started with an opening speech by the Head of Board of Trustees, Dr. Idris Hadi, through his speech he showed his appreciation and thanked the team and gave his full support so that these students become role models for the others. On 22nd & 23rd of November, 2018 the first module of (professional Clinical Orthodontic) workshop has been launched. It started with the opening speech by the vice president of Tishk International University Dr. Wasfi Kahwachi in which he mentioned the importance of these international workshops and how the university supported them. Followed by the speech of Dr. Dara Rashid the representative of Ministry of health. He declared the importance of such international workshops in Kurdistan region. On 19th November, 2018 some 4th grade students from dentistry facuty of Tishk International university with their academic supervisor Dr. Bushra Rashid and the Polyclinic Director Dr. Lezan Dawood had a visit to Erbil Orphanage House. The main purpose of the visit was to evaluate the dental and oral health conditions of the children. The orphanage children welcomed the students and they were so excited to have this friendly environment. Tooth pastes and tooth brushes were presented to them as a gift for motivational and educational purposes.
