On 15th November 2023, the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) selected a general class representative for the academic year of 2023-2024 through an election procedure. The election was carried out by the Dean of Students Representatives in the Faculty of Dentistry.
For the position of General Class Representative, three students put themselves forward as candidates. The election process spanned all classes from the 2nd grade to the 5th grade, allowing students to choose their preferred candidate. After visiting each class and collecting votes, a meeting was convened in the Dean of Students’ office. Present at this meeting were all three candidates, along with the Dean of Student Representatives. The votes were meticulously counted, and out of a total of 518 votes, 236 were in favour of Hiwa Salah, a fourth-grade student, who graciously accepted the position.
The role of a class representative is to serve as a representative of their classroom, addressing issues that impact the quality of education and the overall learning experience. Class representatives advocate for positive changes and organize activities that benefit the entire school community.
