As part of the Infirmary House Project organized by the Dean of Students Office of the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University, the fourth treatment session for members of the Infirmary was conducted on the 7th of November, 2021, in the TIU polyclinic.

The project included:

1- free dental treatment for the residents of the infirmary

2-social and emotional support for the residents of the infirmary, in addition to meeting the requests and needs of the elderly members.

This project has been managed and supervised by Dr. Zaynab Yalman, Dean of Students Representative of the Faculty of Dentistry. In collaboration with the director of the infirmary, and the cooperation of the academic staff and students of the faculty, the project has achieved great success and satisfaction, receiving positive feedback from the patients under the treatment plan.

The project milestones include the following:

The first visit to the infirmary was conducted on September 28th, 2021. The purpose of this visit was to meet the house manager and set the plan and outline the regular visits to the infirmary to perform dental and oral checks for the residents, and organize several social and health activities to benefit the residents of the house.

The second visit was completed on October 5th, 2021. This included check-up sessions conducted within the infirmary, and completing dental diagnoses for all residents. Also, treatment plans were set, and future visits were set to accomplish the treatment plans accordingly.

On October 19th, 2021 a special visit was organized by the team, to treat infirmary residents that have special and complex medical conditions, and to complete the dental treatment for the handicapped residents as well.

The fourth visit held on October 26th, 2021, was a social visit that aimed to strengthen the relationship between the team and the residents of the infirmary and to discover the needs and requests of each of the elderly members. The purpose of this session was to provide social and emotional support and care to the house residents, and to enhance the relationship between the team and the house members, allowing them to better connect with each other.

In November 2021, free treatment plans were arranged within the faculty polyclinic at TIU and will continue till the end of the year, in accordance with the project plan.

On the 7th of November, the second visit of the treatment was successfully accomplished, with positive feedback received. According to the project plan, the treatment appointments will continue to be held until all house residents receive free dental treatment.
