On the occasion of Prophet Muhammed’s birthday (peace be upon him), the Dean of Students Office at Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) arranged an event to celebrate this holy month on the evening of October 1st, 2024, with the appreciated help, guidance and support from both the Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Jafar Naghshbandi and the Polyclinics Director, Dr Lezan Dawood, whom guided throughout the whole process.
A special corner was prepared at the entrance of the Faculty of Dentistry Building on 15th September 2024, as a tribute to our Holy Prophet. Small gifts containing cards with Holly Hadiths were put for distribution for the students and staff members, to commemorate the Prophet’s life, teachings, hardships, and his merciful, forgiving character.
On the evening of 1st of October 2024, an event was held in the new Dentistry building that encompassed a lecture presented by the very honorable scholar Prof. Dr. Othman Halabjayi whom talked about the great personality and leadership of Prophet Muhammad as viewed by the western community and history. In addition to that, a special Def Performance, which is a Kurdish tradition in the celebration of Mawlid al-Nabawi, was performed by Al-Qadri Def group that deeply touched the hearts of the attendees. At the end of the ceremony, gifts were distributed with dates and sweets . The participation was from nearly 300 people including the rectorate, administration, deaneries, dean of students and staff and students from Faculty of Dentistry and all the other departments in TIU.
A short movie was shown at the end of the event which was prepared by the students of Faculty of Dentistry, and supervised by Dean of student’s committee members. The video included holy sayings of the prophet (B.B.U.H) as well as questions asked and answered by the students and staff from Faculty of Dentistry.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is Allah’s (SWT) final messenger, who disseminated the message of love and togetherness to all people. This month is a dedication to the memory of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his divine message, and a reminder to all mankind, of all the significant teachings of our beloved Prophet. This year, the celebration began from September 15th and lasted till October 1st, 2024.
