On October 23, and November 4, 2025, Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) organized two alumni visits to reconnect with graduates and celebrate their professional achievements.

The visits were led by Dr. Omar Naqahbandi, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Dr. Aliser Babakuliyev, Head of Department, accompanied by several faculty members and administrative staff.

The team visited Dr. Shilan Hameed, Dr. Ishil Nihad, and Dr. Shayan Ahmad, all graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry at TIU and now proud owners of Luma Dental Clinic, a newly established modern dental practice in Erbil on October 23. A well as, Dr. Lana Shwan, Dr. Glara Ahmad, also graduates of Faculty of Dentistry at TIU in their newly established dental practice in Erbil, Orident Dental Clinic, on November 4. In addition, those clinics accommodate a number of recent graduates from the Faculty of Dentistry in TIU who serve as assistants, which is an outstanding opportunity for their professional development.

The purpose of the visit was to congratulate the alumni on their success in launching their clinic and to strengthen the connection between the faculty and its graduates. During the gathering, the alumni shared insights into their professional experiences, challenges, and accomplishments since graduation. Faculty members and former students also enjoyed reminiscing about memorable moments from their university years, reflecting on the journey from student life to professional practice.

As a token of appreciation and continued partnership, the TIU Alumni Center presented a special commemorative gift to the clinic owners. The gesture symbolized the university’s ongoing support for its graduates and its pride in their contributions to the dental profession and the wider community.

Dr. Naghshbandi expressed his pride in the achievements of TIU’s alumni, noting that their dedication and professional excellence reflect the quality of education and training provided by the Faculty of Dentistry. He emphasized the university’s commitment to maintaining strong alumni relations, encouraging ongoing collaboration, mentorship opportunities, and shared community outreach projects.

The visits were part of the Faculty of Dentistry’s Alumni Engagement Program, which aims to build lifelong connections between the university and its graduates, celebrate alumni success stories, and inspire current students to strive for excellence in their future careers.
