Connecting with Successful Graduates

On October 23 and November 4, 2025, the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University organized two alumni visits to reconnect with graduates and celebrate their professional achievements.

The visits were led by:

  • Dr. Omar Naqahbandi, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry

  • Dr. Aliser Babakuliyev, Head of Department

  • Accompanied by several faculty members and administrative staff

First Visit: Luma Dental Clinic (October 23)

The team visited Dr. Shilan Hameed, Dr. Ishil Nihad, and Dr. Shayan Ahmad — all graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry at TIU and now proud owners of Luma Dental Clinic, a newly established modern dental practice in Erbil.

The clinic also accommodates a number of recent graduates from the Faculty of Dentistry who serve as assistants, providing an outstanding opportunity for their professional development.

Second Visit: Orident Dental Clinic (November 4)

The team visited Dr. Lana Shwan and Dr. Glara Ahmad, also graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry at TIU, at their newly established dental practice in Erbil, Orident Dental Clinic.

Purpose of the Visits

The purpose of the visits was to:

  • Congratulate alumni on their success in launching their clinics

  • Strengthen the connection between the faculty and its graduates

  • Celebrate professional achievements and alumni success stories

Alumni Reflections and Faculty Recollections

During the gatherings, alumni shared insights into their:

  • Professional experiences since graduation

  • Challenges encountered and overcome

  • Accomplishments in establishing their practices

Faculty members and former students also enjoyed reminiscing about memorable moments from their university years, reflecting on the journey from student life to professional practice.

Commemorative Gifts and Ongoing Support

As a token of appreciation and continued partnership, the TIU Alumni Center presented special commemorative gifts to the clinic owners. The gesture symbolized the university’s ongoing support for its graduates and its pride in their contributions to the dental profession and the wider community.
