In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) held an informative seminar on October 31st, 2024, to promote awareness and education about breast cancer. The event was organized by the Dean of Students Office in collaboration with the TAKVIN Organization for Humanitarian Aid.
Dr. Jafar Naqhshbandi, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, delivered an address expressing gratitude to the collaborative efforts of the TAKVIN Organization. Dr. Suzan Hoshyar Qader, a specialist oncologist, was the keynote speaker for the event. Dr. Suzan shared her expertise with the audience, providing a detailed overview of breast cancer, including risk factors, symptoms, treatment options, and prevention methods. Her talk emphasized the importance of early detection and regular screenings, offering insight into the latest developments in oncology that improve survival rates and quality of life for patients.
In a show of solidarity with breast cancer patients, Tishk International University in collaboration with TAKVIN organized the sale of educational booklets on breast cancer awareness, treatment, and prevention. All proceeds from the booklet sales were donated to Nanakali Hospital, a local institution dedicated to cancer care. This initiative reflects TIU’s commitment to giving back to the community and supporting patients who are battling cancer.
