Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) arranged four welcome ceremonies for stages 2,3,4 and 5 dentistry students as a welcome to their new semester. The ceremonies were held between 2nd November to 8th November 2024. The program brought together approximately 250 students from all academic stages, along with staff, class advisors, and administrative representatives.

The event opened with a welcoming session in which class advisors assigned to each stage were formally introduced to the students. This introduction aimed to clarify each advisor’s role in academic follow-up, student support, and coordination between students and the faculty.

Following the introductions, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry delivered an inspiring speech in which he emphasized the importance of academic dedication, professionalism, and the strong relationship between students and faculty. He also highlighted the significance of student participation in both academic and extracurricular activities.

A key part of the program was a seminar dedicated to introducing the Dean of Students Office, its roles, and the services it provides. The seminar covered: The structure and responsibilities of the Dean of Students, the activities and support services available to students, the duties assigned to class advisors, how advisors can assist students with academic, personal, and administrative concerns.

This session aimed to ensure that students are fully informed about where to seek guidance and how to make the most of the university’s support system. The ceremony continued with a special certificate appreciation where certificates were awarded to class representatives from each stage, in recognition of their dedication, communication efforts, and assistance in managing class-related matters. As well as, to students who participated in community service projects, acknowledging their contributions to public health promotion and social responsibility. Participants were warmly thanked for their efforts and encouraged to continue their involvement in future faculty initiatives.

To add a fun and educational touch to the program, a Kahoot dentistry quiz competition was held, with tailored questions for each academic stage. Students showed high enthusiasm and competitive spirit, and the top three winners from each level were awarded prizes.

The events concluded in a friendly social atmosphere with sweets, pastries, and juice served to all participants, allowing students and staff to interact informally and celebrate the successful conclusion of the week.

The Faculty of Dentistry extends its appreciation to all students, advisors, and organizers who contributed to making this week meaningful, productive, and enjoyable.
