On the 3rd of December 2022, the Dean of Students Office at the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University organised a trip to Barzan for female faculty students of all grades. The groups were supervised and accompanied by the Dean of Students Assistant, Ms Sara Salim, the Dentistry staff class advisors, and the Dentistry staff class advisors Dr. Bnar Khalis and Dr. Shara Rashid.
The students gathered at 7:00 AM at campus and headed to Barzan by bus. The students enjoyed their time hiking on Esomara-Barzan Mountain, where they were guided by hiking personnel assigned by the university. They also visited a famous site in Barzan called Shanadar Road and had a barbecue lunch, after which they headed back to Erbil. The trip aimed to provide a relaxing environment for the students away from stress and anxiety, strengthen their social relationships, and introduce them to the beautiful nature of Kurdistan.
As we approach the time of year when students are required to work harder to meet deadlines, and the demands of each course become overwhelming, it is crucial to focus on ways to decrease the overall tension of our dear students by organising relaxing and enjoyable activities.
Tishk International University Dean of Student’s Office attempts to provide a variety of social and fun activities for students to help build their social skills and create an interactive learning space to decrease the stress of textbook learning, coursework, and examinations. Students will be able to comprehend unique ideas and engage in foreign cultures through interactions and dialogues produced by such events.
The Faculty of Dentistry at TIU has consistently maintained the highest quality of dental education since its foundation in 2008.
