The Food Fundraising project is an annual project that is organized by the Deanery of Students of Tishk International University. This year’s project was dedicated to patients in need of treatment in Nanakali Hospital. The aim of this project was to shed light on the situation and raise awareness among our students.

The project is accomplished through food fundraising which was held on the 29th of April 2025. Faculty of Dentistry participated in this event with four tables assigned for the food, sweet and pastries brought or handmade by the students and supervised by Dean of students committee members of Faculty of dentistry. With the great contribution of first grade Faculty of Dentistry students as part of Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building course (IDCB) supervised by their course lecturer Miss Zainab Hasan.

First Grade students worked very hard to conduct the project in the most beneficial way and gather as much donations as possible for Nanakali patients. The total income of this project was nearly 1, 155,000 IQD. Donations were received by Nanakali Hospital on 11 May 2025, 10 students from first grade accompanied by their supervisor Miss Zainab Hassan.

The aim of this project was to provide financial aid for Nanakali patients in need, and convey our understanding and care towards their situation, in effort to raise awareness that we may find ourselves suffering in such situations one day. Further to this, we intend to enhance the sense of service and sympathy towards humanity and highlight to Tishk society the importance of giving and putting others before yourself: to live a life of service.

To conclude, it is important to acknowledge that the implementation of such projects would not be possible with the absence of powerful spirits and a hardworking, intelligent team. Therefore, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our students, and staff, for without them, such successful activities would not exist.

We as TIU, would like to thank all our partners and our beloved first grade students that participated in such an important and humanitarian project. We wish to continue carrying out more works and projects in the future.
