Mercy Corner is an annual project organised by the Deanery of Students at Tishk International University. This year’s project was dedicated to people in need and aimed to shed light on the situation and raise awareness among our students. A food fundraising event was held on December 18th, 2022, in which the Faculty of Dentistry participated with five tables assigned for food, sweets and pastries brought or handmade by students and supervised by the Dean of Students Committee Members at the Faculty. With the significant contributions from all TIU staff and students, our university raised over $3,914 for people in need.
The project aimed to provide help and support to those in need and convey our understanding and care towards their situation in an effort to raise cognisance that we may find ourselves suffering in such situations one day. Further, we intend to enhance the sense of service and sympathy towards humanity and highlight to the Tishk society the importance of giving and putting others before yourself: to live a life of service.
To conclude, it is essential to acknowledge that the implementation of such projects would not be possible in the absence of powerful spirits and a hardworking, intelligent team. Therefore, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our students and staff, for without them, such successful activities would not exist.
On behalf of the Faculty of Dentistry, we would like to thank all our partners and beloved students who participated in this important and humanitarian project. We wish to continue carrying out more work and projects in the future.
