On May 24th, 2021, certificates of appreciation were distributed amongst the Dentistry Faculty students who participated in the MercyCorner Project, in recognition of their significant contribution and hard work in the collection, organization, and distribution of donations to help the refugees of Hersham Camp. The ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Ali Bala, Dean of Students at Tishk International University, and several members of the Dean of Students’ Office, including Mrs. Emine Bala, and Dr. Zainab Yalman, Representative of Dean of Students Office at Dentistry Faculty.
The certificates aimed to appreciate and motivate the students to participate in social and humanitarian activities besides their study, in order to be active members of their society and help in the development of the community.
MercyCorner is a yearly project that is organized by the Deanery of Students of Tishk International University. It is dedicated to helping refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) in the Kurdistan region. It also aims to raise student awareness of the lives of those living in camps and families who have been struck by poverty and war.
Dr. Zainab Yalamn, Dr. Noor Ali, and Dr. Huda Shamil supervised the Dentistry Faculty students who took part in the project.
