On 22nd November 2023, the Dean of Students Office at the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) organized an orientation program for new faculty staff members. The activity was organized and supervised by the Dean of Students Committee Members, Dr. Safiya Basman and Mrs. Zainab Tahseen.
The aim of the program was to introduce the new staff to the Dean of Students’ activities and projects conducted throughout the years. An introduction video was played for attendees to introduce the various projects, events and activities accomplished by Dean of Students across the past years. The video included all the clubs, events, social activities, ceremonies, projects and daily or weekly activities performed by Dean of Students’ Office at the Faculty of Dentistry.
Afterwards, Dr. Safiya Basman delivered a speech regarding the importance of participation of research assistants in community service projects and discussed the impact it has on their careers and social lives. Dr Safiya talked about the importance of building a bridge between the students and the staff in the Faculty of Dentistry and explained the role of new staff members in bridging this link between the two sides.
Community service projects are important because they help connect to the community, benefit career prospects, raise social awareness, establish contacts and friendship and help improve skills. TIU has always supported and motivated its staff and students towards participation in community service projects and help improve their skills towards a prosperous future both in Dentistry and in life as individuals in the community.
