In collaboration with the Dean of Students Office at Tishk International University (TIU), the Faculty of Dentistry organized an orientation program for freshmen students who recently joined the faculty earlier this month, held on December 7th, 2023. The event aimed to welcome the newcomers and guide them as they embark on their new journey.
At the beginning of each session, student handbooks and instructions specific of the Faculty of Dentistry were distributed amongst the students. Then speeches were given by the Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Jafar Naghshbandi welcoming the newcomers, followed by a second speech delivered by the Head of Department, Dr. Ali Babakuliyev, who talked about the rules and regulations of the clinics in the faculty. Lastly, the Executive Academic Advisor, Mr Ercan Sezer, who responsible of the laboratories in the faculty, talked about the laboratory regulations and then introduced Dean of Students Committee to the students.
The program was conducted in two sessions for the first-grade registered student attendees who were divided into two groups. The Students Information System (SIS), lecturer notes website, disciplinary rules, attendance regulations, examinations, and mark distributions were explained by Mr. Yusuf Sidiq and Dr. Safiya Bassman, Dean of Students Representatives, in three languages (English, Kurdish and Arabic). The program lasted for around two hours and a half, with a Q & A session also held.
