In collaboration with Dilnawa Organization and as part of the activities of Community-University Partnership Projects, the Dean of Students Office at the Faculty of Dentistry, Tishk International University, organized a shopping outing to supply clothes for children in need. The Dean of Students Representative, Mr. Yusuf Siddiq and other members of the Dean of Students organized and supervised the project with the help of second-grade faculty students and Dilnawa Organization members.
The project aimed to provide Eid clothing to 68 children of families in need in the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr. The children were accompanied by TIU students and members of Dilnawa Organization to help them shop based on their demands.
On 10th March 2023, the second-grade students started gathering donations for the project. On 1st April 2023, the Dean of Student Representatives held a meeting with the students for preliminary planning of the project, followed by a second detailed and thorough meeting on 15th April 2023, where decisions were made and plans and dates were decided. On 19th April 2023, the group of students accompanied by Dean of Students supervisors and Dilnawa Organization members took the children with their guardian family members to Royal Mall, where the agreement was made with several shops for purchasing Eid clothing. The children were given the opportunity to choose their Eid clothing with vouchers worth 50 thousand IQDs, and the project members helped them out.
This activity was financially supported and planned by the our students, and information on the families in need and their children was provided by Dilnewa Organization. Thankfully, the project was a great success, and the children were satisfied and content.
