On the 18th of December 2023, the Dean of Students Office at the Faculty of Dentistry, Tishk International University (TIU), organized a hiking trip to Barzan for faculty female staff. The group, including twelve staff members accompanied by the Dean of Student Representatives, set out on this excursion.
The staff gathered at 8:00 AM and headed to Barzan by bus. They enjoyed a delicious breakfast in Shaqlawa. Afterward, they made their way to Barzan, where they embarked on a hike on Barzan Mountain, guided by a female hiking personnel assigned by the university. Post-hike, they enjoyed lunch and later headed back to Erbil. The trip aimed to provide a relaxing environment for the staff, away from stress and anxiety, strengthen their social relationships, and introduce them to the beautiful nature of Kurdistan.
As we approach the time of year where the staff are required to work harder to meet deadlines, and the demands of each course become overwhelming, it is important to focus on ways to decrease overall tension. Organizing relaxing and enjoyable activities is one such method.
The Dean of Students Office at Tishk International University strives to provide a variety of social and fun activities for staff and students. These activities help build social skills and create an interactive learning environment, reducing the stress associated with textbook learning, coursework, and examinations. Through such events, students and staff can comprehend unique ideas and engage in foreign cultures through interactions and dialogues.
