The Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University launched a table tennis tournament for its students from February 24th to February 26th, 2025. The tournament was organized by the Dean of Students’ Office in the Faculty of Dentistry and Dr. Aram Khudhur Mohammed, Head of the TIU Sport Unit, with supervision by Dr. Shad Hoshyar, a research assistant in the prosthodontic department.
The tournament followed a single-elimination, or “knock-out,” format. This type of contest ensures that the loser of each match is immediately eliminated from the championship. The competition spanned three days and saw the participation of 27 players.
The final match was held on February 26th, 2025, and featured contributions from both students and lecturers. The ultimate winner was Yad Abdulamir, a third-grade student, who secured the first-place title. The second-place spot was awarded to Dana Nabeel, a fourth-grade student.
The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Jafar Naqshabandi, personally awarded both contestants and expressed his appreciation for their excellent performance and participation.
