On February 24, 2021, Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a workshop under the title of ‘’Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) in Orthodontics’’ for the staff and students of Dentistry Faculty, to teach them how to use the TADs during the orthodontic appliances. Final grade students are expected to be dealing with some orthodontic cases before go to master or board in orthodontics. A Temporary Anchorage Device (TAD) can help orthodontists overcome treatment challenges. TADs are tiny surgical screws that orthodontist places in designated locations in the jaw. The workshop was presented by Dr. Omer Sabah, BDS, MSc, PhD (TIU/Dentistry Faculty-Orthodontics Department).

The workshop included the following sessions: ·

First Session: A Brief introduction to TADs.

Second Session: Hands-on training regarding (TADs placement).

20 participants from students and Dentistry Faculty staff attended the workshop.

The workshop enabled the participants to have Full information about the anchorage, types of TADs, insertion of TADs, and Safety areas of TADs insertion.
