On December 8, 2025, Faculty of Dentistry in Tishk International University (TIU) organized a comprehensive orientation program to welcome the newly admitted first-grade students. The event aimed to familiarize students with the university’s academic structure, rules, and facilities, helping them transition smoothly into their educational journey.
The program began with inspiring speeches by the university’s leadership, Dr. Omar Naqhshbandi, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Aliser Babakuliyev, Head of Department and Mr Ercan Sezer, Academic Executive. The speakers emphasized the university’s mission, academic expectations, and the importance of discipline and motivation for achieving success. A dedicated session explained laboratory rules and requirements, with staff members invited to provide detailed guidance.
A significant highlight of the event was the introduction of the Student Information System (SIS), a vital platform for managing academic records and accessing university resources. The attendees were divided into two groups, and in two detailed sessions, Mr. Yusuf Sidiq and Dr. Safiya Bassman, Dean of Student Representatives, explained the system’s functionalities. The topics covered included lecturer notes, disciplinary rules, attendance policies, examination procedures, and mark distribution. The sessions were conducted in English and Kurdish, ensuring accessibility for all students.
The program was conducted in two sessions in three hours. The program concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where students’ questions were addressed comprehensively. Students were also treated to cakes and juice, fostering a warm and welcoming environment.
