On December 4, 2025, Dr. Ranj Nadhim, Chief of the Oral Surgery Department and International Relations Representative at Tishk International University (TIU), visited the Queen Mary University of London to advance international cooperation in dental education and research.

Queen Mary University of London is a leading public research university and a member of the prestigious Russell Group, known for excellence in teaching, research, and global engagement. Located in the heart of London, it is especially recognized for its strong programs in medicine, dentistry, and health sciences.

During his visit, Dr. Ranj held important meetings with leading figures from the Dental School, including Professor Christopher Tredwin, Dean of the Dental School; Professor Mangala Patel, Head of the Research Centre; and Dr. Eleni Bessi, Lead for the Undergraduate Oral Surgery Programme. Discussions focused on exploring strategic areas of collaboration between Queen Mary University and TIU, with the aim of establishing academic exchange, research partnerships, and joint initiatives that will benefit students and faculty of the Faculty of Dentistry at TIU.

In addition, Dr. Ranj extended his programme to the University of Plymouth, where he met with Professor Richard Handy and Associate Professor Alexander Besinis. These discussions centred on initiating a joint research program that will further enrich TIU’s research capacity and foster stronger ties with international partners.

The visit marks a significant step forward in TIU’s commitment to expanding global engagement and enhancing the quality of dental education and research through collaborative partnerships with world-class institutions.
