On February 01, 2026 – The Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) successfully organized an international workshop on (Stress reducing strategies in biomimetic direct composite restoration) at TIU/ Dentistry faculty which sponsored by (BRIGHT DENT) company. The event took place at (Ibni Sina) hall and attracted 62 participants, including dental professionals, faculty academic members, and students eager to enhance their expertise in restoration. The workshop was conducted by two distinguished speakers, Dr. Patrick Calalang from the United States and Dr. Abulla Majeed, a respected member of the TIU academic staff.
The Objectives of this workshop were, introduce biomimetic principles mimicking natural tooth stress distribution for direct composites, teach stress-reducing protocols like incremental layering, soft-start curing, and flowable liners, and demonstrate fiber reinforcement and preheating techniques to lower contraction stress.
The outcomes of the international workshop were proficiency in gap-free bonding with reduced postoperative sensitivity via controlled stress management, hands-on skills for durable, fracture-resistant restorations using low-shrinkage materials, and ability to apply minimally invasive techniques, improving clinical success over traditional methods.
