A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was made between Tishk International University, Faculty of Dentistry (hereinafter referred to as “Tishk International /Dentistry”), a private university located in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and the Ulysses Project within the UC Davis School of Medicine(hereinafter referred to as “UC Davis/Ulysses”), a public land grant university located in Davis, California, USA, each wishing to establish a cooperative research relationship through mutual interests in the areas of refugee health.

At the third annual international conference of oral sciences on May 03-04, 2018, dental workshops were held by esteemed doctors locally and abroad in Erbil Sheraton Hotel. The topics were shown to be so promising that seats for these classes were reserved within a short span of time. The third annual international conference of oral sciences was held at Erbil international hotel, organized by Tishk International University in collaboration with Hawler Medical University on May 03, 2018. The conference started with the speech of Dr.Idris Hadi Salih Head of Board of Trustees and president of Tishk International University, he explained the importance of this conference for all academics and dentists in Kurdistan. The conference  provided a place of gather to approximately 700 participants including the representatives from both the ministry of higher education and the ministry of health, the general director of Erbil governorate, the deans and academic [...]

Tishk International university dentistry faculty and the Kurdistan Save the Children organization volunteered in the Erbil Women Prison doing oral examinations for children that are in prison with their mothers. The teamwork activity was comprised of doctors from the Pedodontic department, a research assistant and a group of dental students in addition to four members from the Kurdistan Save the Children organization. 
Following the examination, instructions on dental care were given to them. About 60 children were examined within age range of 2-10 years.

On 30th of November, Fifth grade, Ronaky primary School visited the Pedodontic department.
The aim of the visit was oral examination. 60 students had oral examination with a letter to the parents of the affected students. 
The school students had a scientific tour in the labs and clinics of the faculty.
