On 9, 10 and 14 May 2026, Faculty of Dentistry in Tishk International University supervised a big project charity organized by First-grade Dentistry students, as part of the Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building course (IDCB). Several meaningful charity projects were carried out to support people in need and serve the local community, supervised by Mr Reman Sabah, Teacher of IDCB course. Through teamwork, cooperation, and a strong sense of social responsibility, the students raised funds from their classmates and family members and used the money to help different groups in society.
One of the charity projects focused on supporting two mothers from Shaqlawa city who were suffering from cancer and needed financial assistance. The students successfully raised 3,150,000 IQD, which was equally divided between the two families. This project showed the students’ compassion and willingness to stand beside families facing difficult health and financial challenges.
Another project was organized to support a Quran teaching and learning center. The students raised 1,275,000 IQD and used the amount to buy five brand-new air coolers for the center. This contribution helped improve the learning environment for students and teachers at the center, especially during hot weather.
In another act of kindness, the students raised 1,500,000 IQD to support street janitors. They distributed 100,000 IQD to each person, and 15 street janitors benefited from this initiative. This project aimed to appreciate the hard work of janitors and spread kindness and respect within the community.
The students also organized a project to buy and distribute grocery packages to families in need. More than 30 families received food packages, helping them meet some of their basic daily needs.
Overall, these charity projects reflected the main values of the Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building course, including empathy, cooperation, generosity, responsibility, and community service. The Dentistry first-grade students demonstrated that young people can make a positive difference when they work together for a good cause.
