The Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University held its annual End-of-Year Appreciation Ceremony on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Ibn Sina Hall, celebrating the achievements, dedication, and contributions of its academic and administrative staff throughout the 2025–2026 academic year.
The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Idris Hadi, President of Tishk International University, Dr. Sultan Abu Oraibi, Vice President Dr. Mehmet Özdemir, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Dr. Omar Naghshbandi, and members of the faculty’s academic and administrative staff.
The event commenced with welcoming speeches delivered by Dr. Idris Hadi, Dr. Sultan Abu Oraibi, and Dr. Omar Naghshbandi, who expressed their appreciation for the dedication, hard work, and achievements of the faculty members and staff during the academic year. The speakers highlighted the importance of teamwork, academic excellence, and continuous development in advancing the faculty’s mission and vision.
A special segment of the ceremony was dedicated to congratulating Dr. Mehmet Özdemir on his recent promotion to the academic rank of Professor. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to higher education and his significant role in teaching and mentoring students within the Faculty of Dentistry, he was presented with a commemorative plaque and certificate of appreciation. The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry also presented a large bouquet of flowers on behalf of the faculty staff as a gesture of gratitude and celebration.
The ceremony continued with the recognition of faculty and staff members who had received academic and professional promotions during the year. Each promoted staff member was awarded a plaque of appreciation in acknowledgment of their accomplishments and commitment to excellence.
A commemorative video presentation was then showcased, highlighting memorable moments from each department throughout the academic year. The video featured academic activities, departmental achievements, and social events that brought together staff members from across the faculty, reflecting the spirit of collaboration and community within the institution.
As part of the appreciation program, the deanery presented certificates of recognition to department heads, faculty members, staff, and seniors for their dedication and hard work in the clinics throughout the academic year. Department heads personally presented certificates to members of their respective departments in recognition of their efforts and contributions.
The faculty also recognized staff members who served on various academic committees within the Faculty of Dentistry. Official letters of appreciation were presented by the deanery in acknowledgment of their valuable service and commitment to supporting the faculty’s academic and administrative activities.
In addition, staff members who actively participated in social initiatives including Dental School Awareness Projects, charity projects and other social activities organized by the faculty received appreciation letters in recognition of their contributions to community engagement and volunteer activities.
The ceremony concluded with a celebratory cake-cutting, followed by group photographs and a joyful gathering among attendees. The event served as an opportunity to reflect on a successful academic year, celebrate achievements, and strengthen the bonds among faculty members and staff as they look forward to future accomplishments.
