On 10 May 2026, the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University organized a scientific field trip for first-stage dental students to the laboratories and clinical training facilities of University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH). The visit was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Sara Bahram, lecturer of the General Histology course, and included the participation of 40 first-stage students from the Faculty of Dentistry. The scientific trip was arranged as part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to enhance students’ practical knowledge.
During the visit, the students toured several laboratories at UKH, including microbiology, histology, physiology, and phantom laboratories. Academic staff at UKH warmly welcomed the students and provided explanations regarding the functions of the laboratories, the equipment used, and the importance of these facilities in supporting medical and dental education.
A major part of the visit focused on the phantom laboratory, where students were introduced to the fundamentals of clinical dental training. The explanations emphasized the importance of patient communication skills, ergonomics, and the integration of digital technologies into modern dental practice.
At the end of the scientific trip, the students participated in a tour around the dentistry campus at UKH. The visit provided an opportunity for first-stage students to gain practical exposure, broaden their understanding of laboratory and clinical work, and strengthen academic collaboration between the two universities. The Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University expresses its sincere appreciation to the academic staff and administration of the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr for their warm hospitality
