On 17th February 2026, Faculty of Dentistry arranged a psychological seminar for students in the faculty. Mental Health & Performance seminar was a focused session designed exclusively for dental students navigating academic pressure, clinical responsibility, and exam stress.

Led by Dr. Waad Alhafiz, Specialist psychiatrist from Baghdad, the session explores how stress impacts focus, memory, performance and more importantly, how to manage it using practical, evidence-based tools you can apply immediately to strengthen both academic and clinical performance.

About 130 students from all grades participated in this event with the greater participation from the 4th and 5th grades. About 20 staff also participated in the event. After the seminar, a Q & A session was carried out. After the seminar and a condensed Q & A session, feedback was taken from the students in which they expressed how beneficial the seminar was for them. A plaque of appreciation was presented to Dr Waad Alhafiz, as a means of thanks and appreciation for his contribution. The event ended with a coffee break and a nice mingling of staff and students.
