On 22 September 2026, the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University held a special celebration marking Mawlood al-Nabawi, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The event brought together around 200 participants, including students, academic and administrative staff, university leadership, and distinguished guests.
The celebration began with a welcoming address by Dr. Omar Naghshbandi, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, who welcomed all attendees and the guest of honor, Dr. Sherzad Abdulwahab, a respected religious scholar. Dr. Sultan Abuorabi, President of Tishk International University, also delivered a welcoming speech, reflecting on the coming of the beloved Prophet and his message of mercy, compassion, and guidance for humanity.
Dr. Sherzad Abdulwahab delivered an inspiring and informative speech highlighting the life, character, generosity, and mercy of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), as well as lessons from the lives of his companions. He also reflected on the Qur’an as a lasting miracle and source of guidance, sharing meaningful life experiences and reflections connecting the Prophet’s teachings with our lives today.
Mawlood provides an opportunity to remember the Prophet’s noble character and to reflect on values such as mercy, kindness, generosity, honesty, compassion, and responsibility. The celebration also featured a beautiful 25-minute Daf performance, creating a joyful and spiritual atmosphere for the attendees.
The event concluded with food being served, allowing students, staff, university leaders, and guests to come together and share in the spirit of the occasion. The celebration was a meaningful gathering of faith, reflection, culture, and community, leaving attendees with valuable reminders of the Prophet’s enduring message of mercy and good character.
