Faculty of Dentistry in Tishk International University launched a table tennis tournament on 11th February with the final match on 19th February 2026 for the Faculty of Dentistry students. The tournament was organized by the Dean of Students Office in Faculty of Dentistry and supervised by Dr Shad Hoshyar, Dr Mustafa Mukhlis and Dr Muhammad Ismail research assistants in Faculty of Dentistry. Table Tennis is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball back and forth using table tennis rackets. The game is conducted on a hard table divided by a net. Points are scored when a player fails to return the ball within the rules. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. Our tournament was performed as a knock-out system; a single-elimination match is a form of an elimination contest where the loser of each game is immediately eliminated from winning the championship. The tournament lasted for 9 days, during which 40 players participated. The final match was held on February 19, 2026, with the contribution of both students and lecturers. The final match was won by Saywan Salah Rashid, second grade student in Faculty of Dentistry who was granted the 1stplace, and the fifth-grade student Dana Nabeel Hashim who was granted the second place. Dr. Jafar Naqshabandi, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, awarded both contestants and appreciated their wonderful performance and participation. TUI will always support and motivate students to participate in all sorts of tournaments, events, and voluntary activities.
