Dean of Students at Tishk International university annually organizes food fundraising projects in which the students and staff bring and sell all types of food, desserts, drinks, etc. Volunteer students actively take part in preparing and selling the foods, which gives them a broader vision to understand the value of social responsibilities. Under direct supervision of Dr. Idris Hadi Salih (Head of Board of Trustees/TIU) and Dr. Duran Kala (Dean of Faculty of Dentistry), a special committee was assigned to revise the BDS program curriculum and the course catalogues according to the European system of student workload and course credit calculation. Dentistry Faculty in Tishk International University (TIU) ,Erbil, KRG, started the first Joint Master Program in collaboration with Hawler Medical University (HMU) in April ,2018. On February 24, 2021, Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a workshop under the title of ‘’Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) in Orthodontics’’ for the staff and students of Dentistry Faculty, to teach them how to use the TADs during the orthodontic appliances. Final grade students are expected to be dealing with some orthodontic cases before go to master or board in orthodontics. A Temporary Anchorage Device (TAD) can help orthodontists overcome treatment challenges. TADs are tiny surgical screws that orthodontist places in designated locations in the jaw. On February 22, 2021, Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a workshop under the title of ‘’Academic (scientific) writing’’ for researchers, which aimed in teaching them how to write academic articles professionally. The workshop was presented by Dr.Ranj Nadhim Jalal, BDS, PhD (TIU/Dentistry Faculty-Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department). On February 21, 2021 , the dean of students office arranged a seminar for Fifth garden students of Dentistry Faculty in Tishk International University . On February 9, 2021 the Dean of students office arranged a visit to Erbil Infirmary House under the supervision of Dr. Zainab Yalman, the representative of Dean of students office in Dentistry Faculty and Dr. Lana Bahram, Prosthodontics clinic Senior . On December 3, 2020, Dentistry Faculty at Tishk International university arranged a visit to Erbil Governmental Orphanage House. Dr. Lezan Dawood, the Polyclinic Manager, Dr.Zainab Yalman, the Representative of Dean of Students Office, Dr. Bushra Rashid, the Chief of Pedodontic Department, and the academic staff of the Pedodontic department supervised a group of Fifth Grade students of Dentistry Faculty during the Activity.
